Materials
2 cups of flour
2 teaspoons of lebkuchengewürz (German spice mixture)
1 teaspoon of baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cups of honey
1/2 cup molasses
1/2 cups of powdered sugar
1/4 cups of salt -free butter, at room temperature
2 eggs,
1 cup of almonds
1/4 cups of candy orange peel
1/4 cup candied lemon peel
1/4 cup raisins
For Glazure:
1 cup of powdered sugar
2 tablespoons of water
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract (or rod vanilla)
Preparation of
In a medium -sized bowl, flour, lebkuchengwürz, baking powder and salt together.
Combine honey, molasses, sugar and butter in another large pot.
Cook over medium heat until the sugar melts and the mixture becomes smooth.
Take the fire and allow to cool for a few minutes. Add pre -whipped eggs.
Slowly add the dry ingredients to the mixture of honey and mix until a thick dough is formed.
Mix the ground almonds, candy orange peel, candied lemon peel and raisins.
Cover the dough and let it rest for at least 2 hours.
Prevent the oven at 175 degrees.
Cover a baking tray with a parchment paper and roll the dough into small balls and place it on the prepared baking tray.
12-15 minutes, cook the cookies until they harden and lightly browned.
While cooking cookies, mix powdered sugar, water and vanilla extract in a small bowl.
Remove the cookies from the baking tray and allow to cool.
After the cookies have cooled, apply them from the glazure mixture over each cookie.
Wait the glaze to dry completely before serving.
