These rituals are designed to celebrate the rebirth of nature, the return of light and the beginning of the new year. Here is an example of a yule ritual:
Everyone who joins the ritual forms a circle and the leader of the ritual stands in the middle. The ritual leader tells the group the meaning and importance of Yule Festival.
Then, the ritual leader sits on the wood and burns the yule log. Yule Log is burned to clean up the negative energies of the past year and to open space for new beginnings.
During the burning of Yule Log, everyone in the group writes and writes something on a written sheet of paper that they think they had escaped from the negativities of the past year and burns these papers. Thus, they get rid of the negative experiences in the past and prepare for new beginnings.
The ritual leader guides the group to identify intentions for the new year and to pray for the realization of these intentions. These intentions may include group purposes as well as their personal purposes.
